2011 National All Styles Results

More than 500 of Australia’s elite martial artists competed at the NAS Nationals held on the Gold Coast.

The 2011 National All-Styles Australian Championships came to a thrilling conclusion in Queensland, held at the Gold Coast 4th and 5th December 2011, with DELIO SENATORE from our club, Seishin-Ryu Karate-Do Aus, walking away with the men’s Champion of Champions Title.

Sensei Delio Senatore placed;

  • 1st in Males open Black Belt Kata
  • 1st in Males open Black Belt Lightweight Division
  • 1st for males State vs State.

Sensei Delio had to then compete against the winners of the other divisions such as welterweight, middleweight and heavyweight.

Sensei Delio Senatore received the Champions of Champions Title belt and Trophy by beating all the rest of the Divisions.
Sensei Delio is the 1st Male Black Belt to win this Title from Queensland.

In addition to his success Seishin-Ryu Karate-Do Aus. produced 3 more National Champions;

  • Dean Butler 1st in sparring Men’s Advanced Division
  • Jesse Carroll 1st in sparring 16-17yrs
  • Michelle Evans in Female team sparring State vs State

Tia Butler also placed 2nd in Female Advanced Kata.

Black Belt Grading Dec 2011

On Sunday the 11th of December 2011 SSR ( Seishin-Ryu Karate) held their blackbelt grading.

Congratulations to the following Students who graded:

Jake Morrison and Michelle Evans  Graded to Shodan ho

Sensei Garry Kelly to Shodan

 Sensei John Oliver and Jeff Haywood to Nidan.

The grading started at 3:30pm and finished at 7 pm, this was a tough grading

as the students were tested Phisically and Mentally.

New Dojo Middle Park State School

As from 21st  March 2012 training will start at the new dojo at Middle Park State school hall.

The times are 6:30pm to 8:00pm. All students are welcome to train.

This as on a trial and attendance is important to keep this dojo/class open.

Students from the  Jamboree Dojo have asked for another class during the week so they need to support it.

This also allows students to train 2 times a week.

National All Styles Results

Great news! We came home with 2 National champions.

Sensei Delio won the open blackbelt kata and Jaimie Singh won his sparring division.
The state vs. state team sparring did excellent with Jesse Carrol’s and David Hickman’s team both winning. Sensei Delio’s open blackbelt team came second.

Kirsha, Tia, Wayne, David, Jesse, Jaimie and Sensei Delio did us proud with great performances. Well done to you all!

On the last night we had a great dinner together with David sampling everybody’s food aswell as their cake.

Next year the Nationals will be held in Sydney and we are planning to take a big team there. We will take Sydney by storm so everybody be prepared for hard work and you will came back as champions!
